Man stabbed for elder brother's unpaid loan
A 25-year-old man was stabbed in Dharwad over a loan his brother took. The knife tip broke and was surgically removed; police recovered the rest.

A
25-year-old man was stabbed in a row over a loan, taken by his elder brother
from a person known to the latter, in Dharwad town on Friday morning.
Raghavendra Gaikwad, 25, a resident of Kanthi Galli, was stabbed by a person
identified in preliminary reports as Mallik, around 10am on Friday, police said. The tip of the knife broke and was stuck in
Gaikwad’s body. It was later surgically removed at the Karnataka Institute of
Medical Sciences (KIMS) at Hubballi. Police recovered the remaining part of the
knife from the crime scene, and produced it as material evidence at the court.
Hubballi-Dharwad Police Commissioner N Shashikumar confirmed that Raghavendra's
elder brother had obtained a loan from Malik.
